NDIS Behaviour Support  ·  Regional NSW & Telehealth

Behaviour support that begins with the whole person.

A registered NDIS behaviour support practice, working alongside participants, families, and teams to understand what behaviour is communicating, and to build support that genuinely fits the person.

Our approach

One connected line, from assessment to everyday life.

Good behaviour support is not a document that sits in a drawer. It is a single line that connects careful assessment, the people who know the person best, and the small decisions made every day.

Person centred

The person, not the behaviour

We begin with the person: their strengths, history, sensory world, and what a good day actually looks like for them.

Trauma informed

Safety comes first

Behaviour makes sense in context. We work in ways that protect dignity, reduce distress, and never rely on control.

Neurodivergent affirming

Difference is not deficit

Support is designed to fit a neurodivergent person as they are, drawing on both clinical practice and lived experience.

Family and team centred

Built to be used

Plans are written in plain language so the people around the person can follow them, every day, with confidence.

Services

How we can help.

Behaviour support across the full pathway, from first assessment to the everyday work of putting a plan into practice.

01

Functional behaviour assessment

A careful, respectful assessment of what behaviour is communicating, grounded in the person's context rather than a checklist.

02

Comprehensive behaviour support plans

Clear, usable plans built around strengths and prevention, with strategies a support team can follow consistently.

03

Interim and early support

Timely interim strategies when a situation cannot wait, so the person and their team are not left without guidance.

04

Implementation and team training

Hands on coaching and training so the plan is understood, owned, and delivered well by the people doing the work.

05

Complex needs and restrictive practice

Considered support for complex presentations, with a clear focus on reducing and removing restrictive practices over time.

06

Telehealth and regional outreach

Practical access for participants in regional New South Wales, through telehealth and planned in person work.

Who we support

The people we work alongside.

Behaviour support works best when everyone around the person is part of the same plan.

Participants and families

Children, young people, and adults, with families held as partners rather than bystanders.

Support coordinators

Clear communication, realistic timeframes, and reporting that makes your job easier.

Foster and kinship carers

Trauma informed support for carers holding complex situations with limited backup.

Support and SIL teams

Training and coaching so frontline staff feel confident and consistent.

Schools and early childhood

Collaboration with education teams so support is consistent across the day.

Allied health and providers

Joined up work with the other professionals already in the person's life.

About the practice

Clinical depth, held with humanity.

Foundational Minds was built on a simple belief: behaviour is communication. When we understand what a person is trying to tell us, support stops being about managing behaviour and starts being about meeting a need.

The practice works across NDIS, trauma informed care, and child and youth wellbeing in regional New South Wales. The work is grounded in behaviour science, a decade of direct practice in under resourced communities, and lived experience as a neurodivergent practitioner.

It is written in plain language, because a plan no one can follow is not support. Every plan is designed to be read, understood, and used by the people who are actually there, on the ordinary days as much as the hard ones.

Make a referral

Let's start a conversation.

Tell us a little about the person and what is happening. We will respond personally, and let you know honestly whether, and how, we can help.
